The Center for Health Design (Concord, Calif.) and J+J Flooring Group (Dalton, Ga.), a manufacturer of commercial specified flooring, have established a partnership to create a web-based toolbox dedicated specifically to senior living design.

The new Design for Aging Toolbox will focus on long-term care facilities and aging in place and will be the first one that will be free and open to professionals and non-professionals alike.

Key components will include a comprehensive issue brief, executive summary, design strategies, case studies, expert interviews, lessons learned, an assessment and planning tool, and three webinars.

A CEU course approved for AIA/EDAC credit will also be available.

Aimed at helping facility designers and medical professionals understand and implement the best solutions for the aging population, the toolbox will be developed and released in phases, with the complete toolbox released by April 1, 2017.
