Edgemere, an SQLC retirement community, is starting work on the second phase of construction on its $36 million expansion and renovation project in Dallas. It is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2018.
 
The second phase of the multimillion-dollar project will focus on building an additional 35 apartment homes in The Plaza Health Services Neighborhood at Edgemere. There will be eight new assisted living apartment homes, 12 memory support suites, and 15 skilled nursing private suites. 
 
According to the press release, The Plaza’s common areas will also be updated with indoor/outdoor courtyards and renovated dining areas, and an underground parking garage will be added.
 
The first phase of the project involved the addition of a 6,000-square-foot performing arts center located in the center courtyard as well as a bar and lounge, the Portabella Café, a learning center, a creative arts studio, and a new game room.
