Heritage Woods Of McHenry is expanding with a $12.3 million memory care project for White Oaks at McHenry (McHenry, Ill.).

The expansion includes 40 apartments – 32 studio units and eight companion suites. Each of the private apartments at the community will feature a spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually-controlled heating and air conditioning units, and an emergency alert system.

White Oaks at McHenry, the new memory care expansion at the community, will cater to older adults with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia. The nearly 36,000 square-foot addition completes the master plan for the 4-acre site that opened in 2008.

In addition, there will be other community areas including two dining rooms, multipurpose rooms, a winter garden, sun rooms, a fitness area, and salon.

Worn Jerabek Wiltse (Chicago) is the architect, and construction will be completed by Horve Construction LLC (Forsyth, Ill.).
