Construction has begun on Pecan Grove, Highland Springs' new independent living building in Dallas.

Plans call for 108 residences with nine floor plan designs that vary in style from luxury two-bedroom to extra-large one-bedroom homes. The Erickson Living retirement community project will have a variety of amenities including underbuilding parking, an exercise studio, a restaurant, and a patio dining venue.

A climate-controlled walkway will connect Pecan Grove to the main clubhouse of Highland Springs where two restaurants, the medical center, aquatics and fitness center, convenience store, salon, and bank are located.

A continuing care neighborhood provides 96 residences offering assisted living, memory care, post-acute rehabilitation, and nursing care services.

JHP Architecture is the project architect, and The Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. is the general contractor.
