Mary-Beth Newell, chief clinical officer at Dycora Transitional Health & Living, will serve as the chairperson at the Long-Term Care & Senior Living CXO Summit taking place July 15-16 at The Ritz Carlton in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Newell has over 25 years of experience in the post-acute care industry and has held positions of vice president of clinical services and vice president of clinical reimbursement. She has been responsible for more than 300 centers in 21 states and has a proven track record of delivering clinical excellence; improving 5-star ratings; reducing the number, scope, and severity of survey deficiencies; introducing innovative clinical programs; and driving multimillion-dollar growth with case mix and Medicare revenue.

Newell’s panel discussion at the event will be “Advancing the Application of Telemedicine in Long-term Care.” Higher-acuity residents have presented clinical and financial challenges for long-term care providers. Caregivers are trying to avoid costly readmissions, while ensuring they provide premium care to patients who now require more complicated and, in many cases, more costly interventions. Telemedicine has been used by some providers to improve care and quality of life for these most vulnerable patients.

Newell and experts on the topic will cover quality assurance, strategies adopted to manage risk, and minimizing readmissions to acute care facilities.
