Lakeshore Woods in Fort Gratiot, Mich., is planning to add 36 new apartments to its Randall Residence assisted living and memory care community. According to the Port Huron Times Herald, the 33,280-square-foot expansion will add units to the existing 40. Apartments will be studio and one-bedroom, and new amenities include a salon spa, café, and a large great room with fireplace.

Reporter Bryce Airgood writes: “The 40 units the facility currently has houses some specialty memory care people or some with traumatic brain issues and all are studio rooms. With the addition these existing units can be used to really focus on brain trauma and memory residents…They have not yet officially broken ground,” but Lakeshore Woods’ officials are hoping for early October 2019.
