Sustainable Housing for the Ageless Generation and the city of Tukwila recently celebrated the opening of the first phase of the Tukwila Village Community project in Tukwila, Wash. Phase 1 provides affordable housing for older adults with low-to-moderate income levels.

According to the press release, the completed construction work includes two new buildings encompassing 193 income-qualified senior apartment homes, a new library, community plaza, and cafe.

The six-acre campus features amenities including the Sullivan Community Center, dining venues, a plaza, and more.

Phase 2 of Tukwila Village construction is set to begin in fall 2018 and is scheduled for completion in 2020. The two buildings in the second phase will offer 398 market-rate and affordable apartments, primarily for seniors, as well as other amenities and businesses.
